*clearing off the dust*

Wow it's been a minute a half hunh? Well I have a perfectly logical explanation :)...

Guess who has been fruitful and multiplied...

Yup that's right..

I decided that the world could use another T diggedy...actually it is more along the lines of this is what happens when you have too much wine and the Carribean heat.....all caution is thrown to the wind.

so avoid Puerto Rico at all cost and never EVER drink Sangria on an empty stomach...Ok kiddies?

I'm just kidding (well sort of) hopefully God is still feeling merciful and has a sense of humor.

In any case...the little bundle will arrive in December...

I will *try* to keep this updated...but no promises......life is busy to say the least..

you all take care..

Puerto rico oooh hoooo!

I've totally neglected this journal...sorry :( I'm horrible at these things...but at the request of my buddy Roejoe I decided to come back and do my PR recap

First day Old San juan!!

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton, good location definitely a lot of activity there and we both agreed that if when we have kids this is where we would come stay. There are so many nice activities..
How come there was a live band playing salsa at like 9 am Saturday morning. I wanted to be mad but couldn't help but laugh.
Here is me getting ready to chow down at this Puerto rican resturant

Here is my girl Koko. She is soo cute no? Her and her Poncho (no pic) were the pet parrots at the Hilton, they had them both in the main lobby...I told Tosin I want a pet bird now..he laughed at me dry.gif

Here we are at this lounge called Dragonfly...the food was nothing to write home about not to mention overpriced. They are basically charging us for ambiance..shoot we can get that here in DC I didn't need to travel to PR for that. We were hoping for a more local flavor..eh well. If you do go here please please please have a white dragon martini. You will thank me. It's the best drink EVER!!

After that we attempted to go dancing at some local salsa clubs. Old san Juan is very cute....I wish we would have stayed there a little longer so we could do more sight seeing...

some old ruins by the Caribe Hilton...not sure what they were off..but they were cool to look at

Hmmm cotton candy. Yummy..This day happen to be T's birthday...so we decided to eat cotton candy and run the streets like kids...what a fun day.

Ok so one thing I can say about PR's is that they are PASSIONATE about their politics..man oh man...we mistook a political party for some sort of carnival *LOL*
Look at this campaign bus... laugh.gif

So day three...off to Vieques

this is the plane we flew on

We are smiling in this picture...but trust me...there was pure fear behind those grins!

It was actually an Amazing flight...so much fun. We could have actually taken the ferry from Fajardo but that takes about 2 hours..the only reason why I would have reconsidered it is because someone later told me we could see whales and dolphins from the ferry. I  dolphins...I just think they are sooo cute! So I'm sad I missed the opportunity to see one
Here are some views from the plane

Tosin loading up the car with all the stuff we bought...if you ever go to Vieques..it will behoove you to rent a jeep! the roads are a little rough..

We went to this local resturant called "Tito Bloque"
man oh man the food was incredible..
Tosin ordered the whole fried red snapper..
It was HUGE..so huge we had to take a picture of it

Here are some pics of us at Sombe (Sun Bay) beach. Sombe is one of the more well known beaches in Vieques....it was lovely...

Here is a pic of our bnb (www.evamer.com)...I really loved staying here. We had a private beach...and we went to sleep to the sound of the ocean...

So this is a pic of the wild horses...that are all over the island of Vieques. The kids in the area actually grab these horses...take them to the ocean to sort of tame them..and then ride them into town. It's an interesting thing to watch

Here is a view of the city of Isabella from sea

We went on a tour of the bio bay... no pics because it's virtually impossible to photograph but this is a must do if you go. (www.biobay.com). I believe there is a bio bay on the main island as well...

Here are some quick notes on things to do in Vieques..

Beaches- The best beach by FAR is Green beach. This is the best beach we've ever been to. It's sort of the beaten path...you will drive for a few miles on dirt roads before you get to it but it is really really worth it. Sombe (Sun bay) beach is the main public beach...it's also pretty nice.

You must must must...do a tour of the bio bay (http://www.biobay.com/) ..it's the most amazing experience ever. If you are feeling kind of adventerous you should try the kayak tour vs the boat tour. We went with a company called Blue Caribe Kayak they are based in Esperenza right next to Bananas..

Local Food- I can recommend two places
Taverna Espanola, it's in Isabella- there food was awesome and so was their sangria
Tito Bloque which is in Esperenza -is also very good (you must try the whole fried fish (it's red snapper))

Lunch/Sandwiches- Bananas as a really good fried snapper sandwich and great french fries (they are homemade)

Formal Dinner- Tradewinds has nice ambience but the food was just OK in my opinion. Inn at Blue horizon was better good.

Brunch- Tradewinds hands down

If you are ever in the mood for baked goods while you are there try the Side Street bakery..

There is a place (the name escapes me now) that had a live steel drum band it's next to the Hix house (a big Eco-friendly hotel) you may want to give that a try for night entertainment (just beware of the wild horses at night)

Overall it was a fun time. I'd definitely do it again

So we leave for PR tonight. I haven't packed a single item...but this isn't new...I do this ALLLL the time :)

I'm really excited about our trip...I'll get some much needed R&R and I love going to new places..

I'll be sure to post pics once we get back...

ta ta till then!

I'm home today coughing up a lung. The drastic change in temps can really mess up one's system, especially if you do a lot of outdoor activities (I've been running)

We finally booked our vacation..

we are going to Puerto Rico (yay!)

We'll be staying mainly on the island of Vieques, which is suppose to be nice and very secluded.

Here is the BnB we'll be staying at

http://www.evamer.com/

we will also spend sometime in Old San Juan...so we don't feel like lazy bums..we've gotta at least take in some culture. We have an affinity for Spanish culture (Tosin grew up in Maadrid) so we can't wait to find every authentic salsa spot there is, eat some good food and just relax.

I'm so looking forward to it because I'm burnt out!

So our house is going on the market this week. I'm not particularly looking forward to moving, but hey...you do what you have to do.

One of these days I'll put up some new pics...I've got plenty of them...they just need to make it from my camera to the computer..

Ok..this is totally off topic..but can someone please tell me what Terri Hatcher is wearing here???

I typically don't get that upset about red carpet fashions...but I don't understand why people go out of their way to look like the living dead. All she needs is a casket clutch and she'd be set. Living dead couture.

I don't know who this is..but I *HAVE* to believe this is not a pose. She must have dropped something and was attempting to pick it up, the camera man and then caught her midway. I have to believe that. Is that her butt hanging out? Her parents must be proud. Skank couture

I expect no less from Madonna, the woman invented tacky. I think she's missing her wooden clogs and Dutch hat. Amish couture

sorry...I just had to get that off my chest...I didn't even watch the Grammy's (Project Runway was on) so I don't know what my problem is quite frankly, these pics just ticked me off.

Speaking of fashion...ugh..I'm so sadden by the results of Project Runway last night. How can you kick Nick off?! and leave Santino on?!?! It's so messed up because they are truly only keeping him on for ratings. He's like last years Wendy Pepper (who I ). I'm willing to bet he will make it to the top three. Daniel will probably win the whole thing. Chloe will also be amongst the top three.

I'm actually not terrible impressed with this years designers. They are kinda 'meh'.  The talent last year was sooo much better. They should have kept the other Daniel on, he's stuff was very well made and interesting..I'm glad Zulema was kicked off. That last moved she pulled was trifling.

So I'm at work...cramping like a @#$^&

and I'm hella tired..

I have this huge project I'm working on...and it will be over in about T minus 4 days...When the code is finally rolled out to production and we can all rest easy. Till of course we get 10 million calls from customers complaining.

So my sister-inlaw had the baby on January 2nd :) She is the cutest little thing.  I'll be sure to post some pictures soon.. We called my mother and father inlaw in the hospital and she was soo thrilled. Of course no sooner after they shrilled over their newest grandchild they were asking what the deal is with us. It's actually starting to get VERY annoying. We are planning on trying this year but if they continue this way we just might change our minds!!

They are finally breaking ground on our new house (yay!) so excited, I'll be driving out there every weekend to see how much progress they are making

We are trying to plan a trip somewhere before spring. We are thinking either Puerto Rico or Mexico. I haven't been to either place so I'm game. What do you guys think??

Does anyone watch Project Runway?? I was soo happy with who was out last night. My least two favorites. They are both nice enough people but I just wasn't feeling either of their styles.

I'm going to go back and self medicate...

later
